OUR INSTRUCTORS
Megan Eda Pierce
Megan is the owner of Bright Star School of Fine Arts, LLC and has been playing the piano since she was 9. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and has a Bachelor of Arts. In 2006, she began teaching piano and has been teaching all ages and levels ever since. Megan is also member of the Music Teachers National Association, and a proud supporter of Lake and McHenry Counties' art community. Megan is also the choir director and pianist at Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Grayslake; she is also the accompanist for the choir, band, and orchestra at Lakes Community High School in Lake Villa.
Jonathan Cruz
Jonathan started piano at the age of 6. He studied at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla in Mexico and at Millikin University in the USA. He has performed in different types of events from wedding receptions to private events including playing for the former mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley, and at the Genesee Theater for the Miss Waukegan pageant in Waukegan, IL. He has been teaching piano to children and adults since 2009. He adapts to the child’s style of learning. All music lessons focus in an area of music such as music theory, ear training, sight reading, and techniques. He also teaches music composition and works with students in learning other styles of music like pop, rock, and jazz.
